Betrayal

Jesus faces betrayers on all sides. Some are obvious and some are not. Judas will be betray Him with a kiss, Peter will be betray Him with words, and the others will betray Him by running away and none of it will come as a surprise to Jesus.
Jesus always knew He would be betrayed. He came anyway. The nation of Israel betrayed Him even though He came to save them. The Romans betrayed Him, mostly because they didn't realize He came to save them also. Somehow Jesus was not dissuaded or distracted from His mission. He came to save US from betrayal.
We had betrayed the God in the garden of Eden and suffered the consequences. Jesus' entire mission was to save us from this betrayal, so that we might be reunited, reconciled with the Father so that we could live in Joy that He intended for us in the beginning.
We have to remind ourselves, when we continue to deny Him and betray Him in ways large and small, that He knows, and He loves us, and dies for us and is on mission for us. We cannot give up on ourselves because He never does.
