Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Our entire Christian existence is our pursuit of this. The Truth is about who Jesus is, who God is, and how God desires to be in relationship with us. The Way is the means that God has provided for us to enter into 'communion' with Him - the sacramental life. The Life is the way we do it day in and day out - Prayer, Scripture, Service and Evangelization.
Paul's exhortation from the Acts of the Apostles shows that he has completely embraced the Way, the Truth and the Life. St. Peter tells us: "Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope" All of the early Christians were ready to do this. Paul is able to clearly describe how God works through Salvation History (in yesterday's reading and today's). In other places, Paul uses his own personal story of being saved by Jesus to bring people to the Lord.
Learn how to connect with your story and with salvation history. Often, this requires a guide. Soon, I will be launching a new endeavor: Way Truth Life, which will provide an opportunity to learn what the Church teaches in relationship to the Sunday scriptures, and a chance to hear the witness stories of fellow parishioners. Stay tuned for more details in the next couple of months.
