What is to prevent it?

The Acts of the Apostles seems to cover all of the scenarios that we, as Christians, might face in our efforts to build the kingdom, and this is indeed what we are called to do. Today's reading from Acts asks a very pertinent question: What is to prevent it?
In his encounter with the eunich, Philip offers everything he has to offer: His knowledge of scripture; the life he had lived with Jesus and the Apostles; his belief in the promises of Christ.
Make no mistake, the world is still interested in Jesus Christ. Maybe not as directly as we like, but people are still comforted by real truth, they want to have direction - a way, and they want to know how to live a life that is joyful and rewarding.
What do you have to offer that supports them on this journey, maybe you're a great listener, maybe you are eager to offer a hand to help, maybe you are always encouraged by scripture so you might have a word to share, maybe you see the Christian life in everyday life, maybe you have one of the ten thousand gifts I haven't described here - whatever it is, take Philip's lead: offer what you have to bring someone closer to the Lord - you will never regret it. After all, what is to prevent it?
