God's plan for us is so beyond our current comprehension. For Jesus's apostles, they surely could not imagine that things could not get much better than when Jesus was with them and they were gaining popularity and followers and doing miracles in His name - but God had something much greater right around the corner.
God was going to unveil, through the apostles the depth and power of His plan (at least the start of it). His plan was that He was going to keep revealing Himself in new, deeper and more wonderful ways throughout our history.
Recently I have been researching the Shroud of Turin and one of the things that really grabbed me is this: Our ability to understand the incredible mystery of the Shroud is growing as technology grows. The advent of photography allowed us to see the image of the man in the shroud as a photographic negative - allowing a photographic positive. This was undiscoverable for almost 2000 years. God is still revealing.
This happens in many other ways. In our individual lives, and in the teaching of the Church. God keeps revealing Himself in new ways. Pray that you won't miss a single way that He might reveal Himself to you.
